Shabby Chic

The challenge this week at Heart 2 Heart is Shabby Chic.

I kind of struggled with this one...but this is the card I made.
The base of my card is CTMH Champagne cardstock, which I embossed with one of the new CTMH Embossing Folders called Damask.   I added CTMH Hollyhock Zipper Lace to the one side.  I then used Hollyhock cardstock to make my square piece, which I distressed all the edges of.   I stamped on the heart which is from the CTMH Sweet & Lovely stamp set, which is one of the stamp sets that come with the CTMH Artbooking Cricut Bundle.  I first stamped it with Chocolate Ink...and then stamped it again using White Ink.   The "Many Thanks" is from the Chantilly Paper Pack...one of the borders on one of the designer papers.    I then added three different colored flowers to it (which are not CTMH.)

I used a dark pink/purpleish cardstock for my background...then cut out the yellow designed layer using my cricut machine with the Artbooking cartridge.  I then used the same color pink for the middle layer, rounding the corners.  I used the same yellow cardstock for the Romans 14:19 verse, distressing the edges of it.   I also added four little hearts to it.

ODBD Challenge #191 - Secret Admirer

This week at Our Daily Bread Designs Challenge Blog is to CASE someone who you admire or a card that you admire.

In last week's challenge I fell in love with the card that DT Linda Carson made.
She made this Shabby Chic style card:
 So...this is the card that I CASE'd

Here is the card that I made:
I used ODBD "Heart & Soul" paper pack.
I used three different papers from it and distressed all the edges of all of them.
I used ODBD Ornate Hearts Die to cut the heart out.
I died cut the flourishes with my big shot - and added a white rose.
The "Trust in the Lord with all your Heart" is from ODBD "Clean Heart" stamp set.
I also distressed the edges of that.

I know I don't do Linda Carson's card justice...but I do like how it turned out.

Shaving Cream Technique Hearts

Made this "Just Because" card using the shaving cream technique (the Just Because is a 3D stick on.)   I used a yellow cardstock for the base of my card...and after doing the shaving cream technique I cut one big heart and five small hearts out of my sheet.

The challenge this month at UnstampaBelles is called "Dare To Get Dirty" - and to take pictures a long the way.    So I did.....

This first picture shows the products I used:
I ended up just using the colors Crimson and Green.
Next - put the shaving cream into the plate:
Note: I did not have much shaving cream left in the can, so it came out a little more runny and had bubbles...but it still worked good.
Swirl it around:
Lay your cardstock on it and press it down:
Then take it off and wipe it down:
It's pretty messy:
This is what I ended up with:
I cut my hearts out of this.

Birdbrain Birthday

Made this birthday card using this adorable image from From The Heart stamps...it's called Birthday Candle Birdbrain.  The birthday saying is also from the same set.   This is the free set that Faith gave for the February Stamp of the Month Challenge.  If you play along the month before, she gives you this set free.    I colored it in with Promarkers...then trimmed around the edges with a wavy craft scissors.   I layered it on a plaid patterned paper.  I also used the same wavy craft scissors to trip around the saying...then I sponged on  buttercup ink around it.  I also added three pearl flowers to the corners.
