Take Me Deeper DNA 2016

I would love to invite any of my friends and family to come and join us at His Kingdom Come for our 2016 Year long project -- Take Me Deeper DNA.... a look at "Who I am in Christ." Does the enemy ever lie to you? Of course he does, he always does! Does he try to convince you that you don't count? That Jesus can't possibl...y love you, that He forgives everyone else, but just forget about THAT sin .... and on and on and on? You've heard that tape play in your head, right? Okay, so it's time to learn the truth....learn who you REALLY are in Christ according to what the Truth of God's Word says!
There will be devotional studies provided bi-weekly and then on the "off week" you'll receive information for a creative prompt to remind you and really bring to heart what you studied.
The cost for all this? FREE! The results? You will go deeper in your walk with the Lord! Visit http://www.his-kingdom-come.com/gro…/take-me-deeper-dna-2016 to join (must become a member to join; it is quick and free).

Here are my front and back covers for my journal...I am using the large size Dylusions Journal.

God's Aviary Class at HKC

I just finished up a five part class at His Kingdom Come called God's Aviary

God’s Aviary is a combination of a bible study or research paper and a technique based project. The 5 classes each start from the theme of birds in the Bible and the symbolism and meaning we can discover.

The five classes were put on by the five Foundation Team Members
Mary Brack - Birds
Merri Dennis - Nests
Shonna Bucaroff - Sparrows
Diane Marra - Doves
Bernice Hopper - Eagles

Here is the Birds Class
Here is the Nests Class
Here is the Sparrows Class
Here is the Doves Class
Here is the Eagles Class

I really enjoyed this five part class a lot!  I learned so much about these birds, but more importantly their symbolism in the Bible representing God the Father, Jesus Christ the Son, and God the Holy Spirit.    So much to learn!   Each foundation team member put so much hard work into creating these classes for us!

Scrapping Everday Miracles August Challenge

It's time for our August challenge at Scrapping Everyday Miracles!

Our Scripture Focus - Genesis 50:20
As Far As I Am Concerned, God Turned Into Good What You Meant For Evil.

This month I did a Journal page using our Scripture Focus
I made the background by applying gesso on the page, and then I used bubble wrap and some stencils pressed into the gesso.  I lightly sprayed it with a couple of light colors of spray ink.  I had made some painted circles on an old book page and cut them out.  I used two of them on this, gluing them down on my page.   The text was added using my Paint Shop Pro program.

Scrapping Everyday Miracles July's Challenge

It's time for our July challenge at Scrapping Everyday Miracles!

Our Scripture Focus - Psalm 34:18
The Lord is close to the brokenhearted; He rescues those who are crushed in spirit.

This month I did a mixed media project on canvas using our Scripture Focus
I started out the background of my canvas piece using a purple paint.  I then used some molding paste and a stencil.  I then painted a pink & purple mixture over that.  The flower on the background was also done using a stencil and red paint.  Then I painted the heart on.  I printed out the Psalm and cut the sentences up and then distressed the edges with black ink.  The butterflies and the flowers are stamped on.  I finished the edges of the canvas with black ink, then used a white pastel stick on top of that.

Zigzag Postcard Book

I took one of the online classes offered at His Kingdom Come called Zigzag Postcard Book.
It was a total of five different techniques on 6x4 Watercolor paper (or you could also use Mixed Media paper.)   You attach all your finished pieces to make the book with a piece of cloth.   You also have the backs of the book to decorate.    I really enjoyed doing this class.

Here is my finished book - the front cover, the backs of my pages, & the front technique pages.
The 5 techniques used are:
Wet Watercolor and Cling Wrap
Stenciling
Paper Piecing
(which I really messed up on...so I ended up painting mine)
Mini File Folder
Watercolor wet on wet

Sunday Mornings 2 Journaling - with Guest Artist Jeanette Montero

I am taking an online Christian art class by Mindy Lacefield called Sunday Mornings 2 Journaling

Today's lesson featured guest artist Jeanette Montero

Here is the lesson
This lesson was a joy to do.  Jeanette provided the template for the butterfly and the leaves.
It is all hand painted on.  I hand wrote in all the words.
This doesn't really look like Jeanette's lesson did, but I am very happy with it.

I am really enjoying these lessons a lot.

Sunday Mornings 2 Journaling - with Guest Artist Kimberley Hope Smith

I am taking an online Christian art class by Mindy Lacefield called Sunday Mornings 2 Journaling

Today's lesson featured guest artist Kimberley Hope Smith

Here is the lesson
I really enjoyed today's lesson with Kim.  This lesson was such a good reminder to me that God sees the whole picture in my life, not just fractions of it like I do.

We started out by putting gesso all over the page.  Then drew a rectangle in and then used a few different colors of gelatos on the background and blended them in.  Then we used acrylic paint over that...blue and black mixed together to create a night time scene.  Then green paint on the bottom for the grass.  Not painting in the rectangle - and added glitter to it.  Then used a white marker to make the moon & stars and dots all around the sky.  Also used the white marker to write in the God Sees The Whole Picture! In my life.

I am really enjoying these lessons a lot.

Sunday Mornings 2 Journaling - with Guest Artist Shonna Bucaroff

I am taking an online Christian art class by Mindy Lacefield called Sunday Mornings 2 Journaling

Today's lesson featured guest artist Shonna Bucaroff
Her lesson included doing a Bible Study and then making an art page from that.

My study and art project is based on Psalms 62:5 & 6
5 For God alone, O my soul, wait in silence, for my hope is from him.
6 He only is my rock and my salvation, my fortress; I shall not be shaken.
The background was prepped already...and for this lesson we added layers of papers in various places with matted medium.  Then added gesso on top of that.  This was all done with watercolor paints - except for a few added on designs at the end (the heart, flowers & star.)   The girl was traced on from one of Shonna's coloring book pages that can be purchased through His Kingdom Come.  Then painted in.  I added little word stickers on it beside the girl (which says "it is well with my soul".)

I am really enjoying these lessons a lot.

Sunday Mornings 2 Journaling - The Crucifixion & Resurrection

I am taking an online Christian art class by Mindy Lacefield called Sunday Mornings 2 Journaling
(My cover and first lessons are posted down below this post)

We just got done doing lessons on the Crucifixion and the Resurrection.

The page on the Crucifixion was hard for me to do.  It was very powerful and emotional.
The page on the Resurrection was much easier to do.

I am really enjoying these lessons a lot.

Sunday Mornings 2 Journaling

I am taking an online Christian art class by Mindy Lacefield called Sunday Mornings 2 Journaling
This type of artwork is totally a new way of doing things for me.  I tend to be the type to make things as perfectly as possible.   This class is just the opposite.  It was hard for me to begin, but after I got going I really liked it!  It is very freeing...

This is my first page
Here is a close up of the one side with the words

We started out by making our own stencils
Then we started prepping our pages.  Here are two that I have done

I am having a lot of fun :-)
Looking forward to the next lessons.
