Mixed Media Journal

I had a nice writing tablet that the front cover was messed up on...so I decided to cover it and use it for a journal.  I started out by putting a white cardstock over it.  Then I embossed two smaller white cardstocks, one with a button pattern & one with a gears pattern.  After I attached those I put a thin layer of gesso over it all and then sprayed painted it with a lavender color.   I then added several different things to it - lace, a Flag sticker, a printed heart chipboard, 2 green glitter gems, a covered button, a cat, 2 different flower designs, heart clouds (the cat, 2 flower patterns & the cloud are all cut out from magazines), a silver metal flower, foam letters & a handmade red flower I made out of used dryer sheets, red spray paint, glitter glue, and a brad.

I am entering this into:
my "alter something" is the handmade red flower

  7. How wonderful Debbie that you were able to recycle your booklet and give it new definition. The multi layers are attractive and the different textures intriguing. It looks like there is a story on that page...history and loves maybe? That is what is so lovely about Journalling...the "a picture is worth a 1000 words." good to see you at Unstampabelles. best, Samara DT - USB
